BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance, the Korean subsidiary of BNP Paribas Cardif, the insurance arm of BNP Paribas, announces that it held a career mentoring program called ‘Dream High with BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance and JA Korea’ with a total of 40 participants, including 19 college students and 21 volunteers from BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance on November 22.

The ‘Dream High’ program, which has been conducted since 2011 in partnership with ‘JA (Junior Achievement) Korea’ – an NGO dedicated to educating students about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy – was first introduced to the elementary school students of a child welfare center, preparing them to be economically independent when they leave the center and need to live by their own means. Along with BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance’s employees, college student volunteers participated in the event and shared their experiences with the children. The college students were also mentored by the employees about their career paths. In turn, the college students passed on the knowledge they have learned from the employees to their younger peers.

This year, the participant group has been expanded to include high school students as well. BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance organized the mentoring sessions both for the college students on how to adjust to their work and social life, and high school students on how to identify and develop their future career path by learning from the testimonials of the executives and employees.

Notably, this year’s program has been well received for its close attention to details and techniques such as tips and advice on effective resume-writing, mock interviews, and tips on office life as well as to more general agendas such as career planning, experience building and management whilst pursuing their ‘dreams’ and ‘visions’.

BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance is committed to providing opportunities for young talents to not only find their own individual ‘dream’ and ‘vision’ through the ‘Dream High’ program, but also grow as a contributing member of society by sharing with others the guidance they received. The college students who participated in this year’s program will visit Sudo Girls’ High School from November 25 to 29 and provide career mentoring sessions to a total of 330 students.

Jean-Christophe Darbes, CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance, said: “We believe Korea is filled with exceptional, hard-working talents who have the potential to become global leaders. We are pleased to contribute to the advancement of the insurance industry as well as the fostering of socially responsible talents through this mentoring program.”
