BNP Paribas hosted a special event for 200 children from the Korea Association of the Community Child Centers (KACCC) and their families to enjoy the world-renowned ballet show, ‘The Nutcracker’ performed by Universal Ballet Company, at the Universal Art Center in Seoul on 27 December.Photo_Nutcracker1

BNP Paribas sponsored the event so as to allow the underprivileged children to enjoy the beautiful ballet performance together with their families, spending a memorable time together during the holiday season. This CSR event is a continuation of BNP Paribas’ year-end cultural arts sharing initiatives. Last year, a day trip, titled ‘A Trip to Modern Art’, was organised to take a group of children from welfare centers to visit the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art together with the employee volunteers from BNP Paribas.

KACCC is an NGO which provides support for welfare centers nationwide with special attention to after school activities for the underprivileged children and teenagers. In February, BNP Paribas signed a sponsorship agreement with KACCC and initiated kitchen renovation projects at their welfare centers. In addition, employee volunteers of BNP Paribas have organised various educational and cultural activities including cooking classes, painting workshops and career mentoring programmes throughout the year to support the children.

Joris Dierckx, Country Head of BNP Paribas Korea said, “We are strongly committed to being a contributing member of the community we do business in, and bringing added value to the people of the community who are in need. By presenting this world-renowned ballet performance, we hope that the children can have a warm and memorable time with their families, and look forward to a hopeful new year to come.”
