BNP Paribas and the Korea Association of the Community Child Center (KACCC) together held a ceremony to launch the ‘Stepping Stones for Wide Horizons Project 2015’ on 4 March 2015 at the Gangbuk Regional Child Welfare Center in Seoul.
In cooperation with KACCC, BNP Paribas has been supporting child welfare centers by improving their facilities and providing cultural learning opportunities through the ‘Stepping Stones for Wide Horizons Project’ since February 2014. BNP Paribas plans to further expand the scope of the project this year starting with the recently completed kitchen renovations at the Gangbuk Regional Child Welfare Center as well as three additional child welfare centers in Incheon.
Following the ceremony, BNP Paribas employee volunteers and the children together experienced and shared the joy of cooking, preparing various recipes in the newly renovated kitchen.
Throughout the year, BNP Paribas employee volunteers will visit child centers on a regular basis and provide various after school programs including art lessons, sports activities and basic economic classes. These engagements are aiming to support children to develop their talents and enhance emotional and creative capabilities.
Hugues Antier, COO of BNP Paribas Seoul Branch, said: “We are excited to expand the ‘Stepping Stones for Wide Horizons Project’ into Incheon. BNP Paribas has made continuous support to create a healthy environment for the generation and we are committed to lending a helping hand to children in need. Our effort goes beyond financial support and aims to provide opportunities for the children to discover and explore their dreams and capabilities as well.”
