-The 5th annual BNP Paribas Amateur Open to be held in September in Gyeonggi area with over 1,600 amateur tennis players’ participation

BNP Paribas is pleased to announce that ‘2017 BNP Paribas Amateur Open’ will be held at Bucheon, Mokdong, Sungnam and Suwon tennis courts from 2 September and 7-10 September. The registration has opened today and will run until 5 September (1 September for Male Advanced) via BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance website (www.cardif.co.kr).
Under the slogan of ‘We Are Tennis’ BNP Paribas has been supporting tennis for over 40 years in more than 100 countries. In Korea, BNP Paribas has been promoting community health and developing amateur tennis culture by organising ‘BNP Paribas Amateur Open’ since 2013.
BNP Paribas Amateur Open will be carried out in MA class – the highest class in amateur competitions – and will start on 2 September with preliminaries and subsequent games will be held until 10 September. More than 1,600 amateur tennis players are expected participate in this exciting event through seven divisions: Female Novice, Female Advanced, Male Novice, Male Advanced, Experts, Instructors and Mixed Doubles.
In addition to the competitions, there will also be side events including free tennis lessons for children to build healthy habits and a ‘junior tennis scholarship’ to support young tennis talent.
