BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance was established in 2002 as a joint venture between BNP Paribas Cardif and Shinhan Financial Group. Today, it is about 85% owned by BNP Paribas Cardif and about 15% by Shinhan Bank after its disaffiliation from Shihan Financial Group in June 2009.
